About The Aesthetic

Once upon a time there was a small literary/arts magazine in the South Bay of Los Angeles called The Aesthetic. It hung in there for some time, producing about 14 quarterly issues. Sometime in the early 2000s, the publisher realized that it just made a lot more sense to take the thing entirely to the web. And that went pretty well. The site expanded and drew a decent audience until, in late 2007, this same publisher decided that the whole thing was becoming really too much work and he shut the site down — driving away most of his readers — while he sought a new way of doing things. This is that new way.

Today, The Aesthetic doesn’t dwell so much on issues related to the South Bay of Los Angeles, but thenĀ it’s hard to say exactly what it dwells on.

The Aesthetic is done entirely by a person named Garrison Frost.
